Deliverance

We have forgotten or never been taught that Jahweh is the mighty deliverer. When we speak of deliverance we foolishly focus on the problem to be delivered from or even the evil one from who we are to be delivered. I want us to in-bed in our minds and hearts that He is the deliverer.

Noah delivered from the flood
Israel delivered from Egypt
Joseph delivered from the pit. jail, famine
David delivered from Saul's hand
Daniel delivered from the lions
Ester & Israel from death In Xerxes's Persian empire
Disciples delivered from prison ….
Jesus delivered from eternal death

God is our deliverer!!!

Jesus sets his agenda in his first sermon
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19)
Jesus' agenda is all together good.

The Lord's prayer has, deliverance, as it's final request. “And never bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)

The Psalm of deliverance must be 91

Psa 91:1 The one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, who rests in the shadow of the Almighty,
Psa 91:2 will say to the LORD, "You are my refuge, my fortress, and my God in whom I trust!"
Psa 91:3 He will surely deliver you from the hunter's snare and from the destructive plague.
Psa 91:4 With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor.
Psa 91:5 You need not fear terror that stalks in the night, the arrow that flies in the day,
Psa 91:6 plague that strikes in the darkness, or calamity that destroys at noon.
Psa 91:7 If a thousand fall at your side or ten thousand at your right hand, it will not overcome you.
Psa 91:8 Only observe it with your eyes, and you will see how the wicked are paid back.
Psa 91:9 "LORD, you are my refuge!" Because you chose the Most High as your dwelling place,
Psa 91:10 no evil will fall upon you, and no affliction will approach your tent,
Psa 91:11 for he will command his angels to protect you in all your ways.
Psa 91:12 With their hands they will lift you up so you will not trip over a stone.
Psa 91:13 You will stomp on lions and snakes; you will trample young lions and serpents.
Psa 91:14 Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name.
Psa 91:15 When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.
Psa 91:16 I will satisfy him with long life; I will show him my deliverance.

GOD SPEAKS
Our love for God
We know His name – ability
We call to Him
He Honors us
He blesses
He delivers

FOCUS IS ON HIM – HE IS GREAT BEYOND UNDERSTANDING
FAITH IN HIS ABILITY
FAITH IN HIS LOVE
OUR LOVE FOR HIM
OUR PROFESSION OF FAITH
